How to Apply Self-Tanning Mousse: A Step-by-Step Guide

Achieving a flawless self-tan is easier than you think. Follow these simple steps to get the best results from your self-tanning mousse:

Step 1: Prepare Your Skin

• Exfoliate: Use a gentle exfoliator or a washcloth to remove dead skin cells, especially on elbows, knees, and ankles. This helps ensure an even tan. Ideally, exfoliate 24 hours before applying the self-tan mousse24.

• Moisturize Dry Areas: Apply a rich moisturizer to dry areas like hands, feet, knees, ankles, and elbows. This prevents these areas from becoming too dark12.

Step 2: Apply the Self-Tanning Mousse

• Use a Tanning Mitt: Place a small amount of mousse onto your tanning mitt. This helps prevent streaks and ensures a smooth application34.

• Apply in Sections: Divide your body into sections (arms, legs, torso). Apply the mousse in sweeping, circular motions to each section. This helps maintain even coverage34.

• Blend Carefully: Lightly blend the mousse over joints (wrists, ankles) and around the hairline to create a natural look4.

Step 3: Finish and Allow to Develop

• Wash Hands: Rinse your hands thoroughly with soap and water after each section to prevent staining4.

• Allow to Develop: Let the mousse develop for the recommended time (usually 4-8 hours) before showering. Avoid getting wet or sweating during this time23.

• Shower Off: Once developed, shower off the guide color to reveal your tan. Gently pat dry with a towel to avoid rubbing off the tan3.

Step 4: Maintain Your Tan

• Moisturize Daily: Keep your skin hydrated to prolong the life of your tan. Moisturize daily, especially after showering2.

• Avoid Exfoliating: Minimize exfoliating and using harsh soaps to prevent fading the tan too quickly2.

Shipping 

Domestic Orders (Irealnd)
Enjoy free upgraded 5-7 business day shipping on all  Ireland orders. All orders are shipped out of our warehouse. Please allow up to two business days for your item to be processed and shipped. Orders are not shipped on weekends (Saturday & Sunday) or holidays. If you order on those days, your order will be shipped within the following two business days. Shipping times and costs are in the table below. Note that shipping times are not guaranteed, but best estimates. Expedited shipping is an available upgrade at checkout, if needed.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking number via email. If you don't see a shipping confirmation email, please check your spam box.

• CANCELLATIONS: If you would like to cancel your order, please contact us immediately. If we purchase your shipping label before you notify us, we will be unable to cancel it, unfortunately.

• INCORRECT ADDRESS: If you entered the wrong shipping address, please email us the correct shipping address right away help@brotan.ie . If we purchase your shipping label before you notify us, we will be unable to change it, unfortunately. If your item is shipped to the incorrect address because of the addresses being incorrectly entered at checkout, we aren't liable for the package. If it is "Return to Sender" due to an incorrect address, please see below.

• RETURN TO SENDER: We are unable to provide a full refund for orders that are marked as "Return to Sender". A refund will only be issued if the package arrives back at our warehouse in perfect condition, which isn't a guarantee as we do not receive most "Return to Sender" packages. If your "Return to Sender" package is deemed in perfect condition, a refund will be issued. Note that original shipping fees are non-refundable and there will be a 10% restocking fee deducted.

• It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the accuracy and safety of the shipping address provided when ordering. If you did not purchase shipping insurance with your order, we cannot be held liable for incorrectly entered shipping information or packages stolen or missing from an unreliable or unsafe shipping address.

International Orders
International orders are shipped via UPS. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. Once shipped, packages typically take 7-15 business days, but in certain circumstances, packages can be held up in customs, sometimes taking 3-6 weeks to arrive. Unfortunately, we don't have control of shipping after it leaves our warehouse. If you need your order sooner, expedited shipping times are an available upgrade at checkout.

*All customs, taxes, import duties, or any additional charges by your local government are the responsibility of the recipient. There is a slight chance that your local government may not charge VAT or duties. However, if you are charged, we can't be responsible for these fees in any way as these aren't charged by us, and therefore, we don't receive any of the funds. Since duties and taxes vary by country, we can't add these costs to your checkout total. If you have any questions about taxes and duties, please contact your local customs office for more information. Finally, shipping fees and taxes will not be refunded if refused because of VAT/taxes.
